Our Story
Terra Bella Interiors brings handmade Zellige, Bejmat, Turkish tiles, marble and basins from the workshops of Fez and Iznik to homes across the UK. Some of the techniques we rely on date back centuries, handed down through generations, and no two pieces we sell are ever the same.
Fez, Morocco
Our Zellige and Bejmat tiles are made in the Fes region of Morocco, where the tradition stretches back centuries. Natural clay from the surrounding hillsides is kneaded with water, pressed into wooden moulds by hand, dried in the sun and fired in kilns before glazing.
The hand-making process gives every tile its rugged edges, chips and colour variances. It is precisely these imperfections that make each tile unique, and beautiful in our eyes.
Iznik & Kutahya, Turkey
Turkey’s history of tile and pottery production dates back over five thousand years. Our hand-printed Turkish tiles and handmade wash basins originate in Kutahya, towards the east of the country, famous for its porcelain since the fourteenth century.
Each basin and tile is painted by hand, so the patterns carry the small variations that only a brush and a steady human hand can leave behind.
The Mediterranean
We proudly offer hand-cut marble tiles and mosaics from Turkey and across the Mediterranean. Marble’s allure transcends time and cultural boundaries, adorning palaces, cathedrals and sculptures with unmatched elegance for centuries.
Its smooth texture, intricate veining and luminous sheen bring a sense of opulence and refinement that no other material can, and a fantastic addition to any home.
